AYINA team puts together another fabulous show

Vasantotsava 2014, AYINA’s Annual Spring Event was held on 18th October 2014 at Mossfiel Primary School in Melbourne West.  Young Amateur Artists and Professionals enthralled the gathering of over 500 people making it a memorable spring event of the year.  Vasantotsava 2014 was a free for all event and has created history in amassing over 500 people despite many other popular and interesting events on the same day across Melbourne.

Smt. Viji Nagesh, the energetic Vasantotsava tour guide and master of ceremony for the evening commenced the proceedings by inviting the Chief Guests and AYINA Inc. President Shri. Nagesh Joshi to do the honour of lighting the lamp.  As is the tradition, this was followed by National Anthems of Australia performed by Bhaanu Raj and India by the proud Indian Audience.  Shri. Nagesh Joshi welcomed the distinguished panel of Chief Guests and declared the event open. Dr. Raj Khillan, Paediatrician and General Secretary, Overseas Medical Graduates Association (OMGA), one of the Chief Guests addressed the audience and highlighted the importance of cultural activities in the overall growth of children.


The evening performances began with invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha by Sonika Ramesh. Children from ages 2 – 15 mesmerized the audience with a fabulous show including performances from Bharatanatyam to Ballet, Bollywood to Hollywood and Classical Vocal to Instrumental recitals. Tiny toddlers put up a grand costume parade which brought a smile on every face, while the bollywood dance performed by Ranjani Group brought the roof down. Ranjani group consists of working mothers who put up a grand performance inspite of their already hectic schedule of managing work, family and kids rehearsals. Audiences were spellbound by the range of talent on display that evening and appreciated every performance with great energy and enthusiasm.  There were around 55 kids who performed that evening. Kids of all age groups were involved in group dance, group songs, carnatic and Hindustani recitals. Kid’s orchestra presented two instrumental compositions which left the audiences spellbound.

Dr. Geeta Venkatram, President of OMGA and a strong supporter of AYINA addressed the auidence and spoke about women’s health. Dr. Meera Joshi, Principal GP, Mossfiel Medical Centre, a Platinum Sponsor and an extraordinary supporter of AYINA thanked the Chief Guests and complimented all the AYINA Inc Executive Committee Members for putting together a successful show second time in a row. This was followed by felicitation to some of the key supporters of AYINA without whom this event would not have been as successful. Dr. Raj Khillan, Dr. Chandar Varane, Shri. Ashok Chavali, Shri. Dinesh Rao from Bank of Melbourne, one of the key sponors and Dr. Meera Joshi were felicitated by the Executive Committee Members of AYINA Inc.  AYINA Inc appreciated and acknowledged the continued support provided by Wyndham City Council for their annual event.

The second half of the programme was dedicated to accomplished Professionals from all over Melbourne.  Mohini, a renowned Kathak dancer and guru opened the second half with a brilliant kathak performance. This was followed by vocal renditions from Rahila Sharma, Veena Sholapurkar and Sunitha, Sudesh, the brother-sister combination performing with live musicians. Live Musicians were lead by Shri. Ashok Chavali, President of TAAL – The School of Rhythm on the tabla, Shri. David Balaban, a renowned Indian Classical Sitar Player, Rohit on the Keyboard and Pardeep on the Guitar.  Performances also included bollywood songs and dance.

Shri. Dinesh Rao from Bank of Melbourne announced the winners of the lucky draw for the evening.  Three lucky members of the audience walked away with attractive prizes sponsored by Bank of Melbourne. Shri. Gururaj Hosur, Shri. Gangadhar Kumbar and Shri. Jai Reddy, AYINA Inc gave the vote of thanks. The climax of the show was a major highlight of the evening. AYINA Inc musical team presented Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, their Unity in Diversity theme to conclude the grand show on a high note. Thus came an end to Vasantotsava 2014 with music lingering on everyone’s minds.

Melbourne, Sep 28: Young talents from the Association of Young Indian Talents of Australia Incorporated (www.ayina.com.au) mesmerised an audience of over 250 people at the Kundrattu Kumaran temple, Rockbank tonight.

The program began by lighting of the lamp by the President of AYINA INC Mr. Nagesh Joshi and the distinguished guests of Honour. This was followed by invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh by Veena. Children from age group 3 to15 years enthralled the audience with a grand show including performances on Bharatnatyam, Bollywood and other modern dance styles as well as classical singing, instrumentals such as violin, drums, tabla and flute.
